We were out in Amsterdam for about 11 hours plus the drive there and back. This has been a long day but I think we are all quite happy with what we saw. In a city of this size you need to spent at least 5 to 7 days to get a good feel for it, today we just got a bit of a taste of it. We visited Amsterdam about 14 years ago and truth be told it looks totally different. Amsterdam is also the first large city on this tour where we have not visited a single church. It appears that most churches around where we have been are either turned into museums, offices and concert venues. Go figure.
Reminds me of Copenhagen, but with narrower streets … (which isn’t that weird – Copenhagen was heavily inspired by Amsterdam). Did you guys get rained on?
Actually the weather was almost prefect. It rained twice for about 5 min. First time we were in the shop, the second time we were eating fries, and by the time we stopped under a tree to dig out an umbrella is stopped raining. I think that when it comes to modern buildings Copenhagen takes the cake – it is simply stunning.
Pozdrowienia, czekamy na Was!
Small world indeed. Now where in Normandy are they running maybe we can spot them as well. Let’s plan something for the next weekend.
