We are in Berlin – finally! This city is nothing like I thought it would be. Unlike some other amazing European capitals we visited like Paris, London, Prague, Budapest or even Ljubljana, Berlin for the most part is ultra modern, spacious and very very clean. I think our favourite part of Berlin is the Tiergarten. It is the largest park in Berlin, about 2.5 sq km, located in the city centre with more than 23km of walkways. For many years, however, the park wasn’t open to the public. It began its life as the preferred hunting ground for the electors of Brandenburg. It was Friedrich I, the first Prussian king, who opened the park to the general public, providing easy access to the Tiergarten by building roads and thruways.
