Berlin Cathedral

Not wanting to be outdone by the Roman Catholics and their obscenely splendid churches – the Protestants built their own showpiece. Having a budget of a king always helps and thus Berlin Cathedral.  While this account is not entirely based on historical accuracy, the building nonetheless is wonderful and splendid.  It has an air of understated opulence and beauty.  It offers great views of the city and together with the crypt and the galleries takes about 2 hours to see.  Time well spent.

Another beautiful cathedral. I hope you are tagging the doorways for the book LOL

Good idea – I should look at doorways more and tag them…

We didn’t go in… Found the placement so weird – huge 4-laned road right out the front door. I feel like I should be remembering some detail on this though… Biggest dome north of…??? Or some such thing? Whatever the case, looks nice. 😉

They even offer a discount if the church service is in process but we really wanted to see the inside so we went on the boat then came back.
