This was really a last minute idea for doing something different – aka something that involved less walking and more sitting. We booked it the night before and had to get up early to be there by 8:30 am. This turned out to be a half day tour through the hills around Florence with an amazing tour guides and some great people. We had a few historical stops, a great lunch at a private estate, and a drive back to the drop off point. These little vintage Fiat 500s are a work of art. They have no real suspension or horsepower or working electronics. Everyone had to do a test run with the instructor to prove they can start the car and drive a stick. Seatbelts were for decorations only. The dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree with meaningless warning lights. Ours was, I think, 1967 or 1968 vintage Giardini Fiat 500, it was a total shitbox, and I never had more fun driving a more sweet car than this, I think that goes for everyone on this tour. Pure gold, perma-grins and happy happy joy joy!! All this for a price of half decent Super Tuscan bottle of wine!
