We know a guy, who knows a guy that told us to follow him to a parking lot on the outskirts of the city in an industrial area to meet this Italian guy who comes to Nuremberg once a month with a van full of goods.  He drives 1100km in one day to bring fresh produce from Italy.  Fruits and vegetables, cheese and meats as well as olive oil, wine and some home baked bread!  When it comes to fresh food from Italy, it does not get any fresher than this.  We decided to go and see and try it out, and needless to say we were very happy we did.
