La Biscondola

Getting off the beaten path can be so rewarding.  We found this place on one of the side streets in San Gimignano.  La Biscondola, has great service and even better food.  Off the menu, we tried the goose liver pate and  the bruschetta as appetizers, wild boar ragout with white Tuscan beans in wine, truffle mushroom ravioli in cream sauce, lasagne, salad and fries for the children.  Espresso, a couple of bottles of water and some local organic wine –  all for under €50.  For dessert we headed out to the world famous gelato place on the main square.

I love them too, more so when they are prepared and served!

I’m not a huge bean fan, but they’re fine. I just remember finding it funny that such a plain, white bean made it onto the menu so often! 😉

Beans are deadly in every sense of the word. Yum!
