Levanto

Levanto is a small town on the fringes of Cinque Terre and it is where we are staying at Villanova Agriturismo.  Levanto  has a great beach and it is only about a 5 min train ride to Monterosso which is the first town in the Cinque Terre National Park going from North to South.  Like many villages in this region, Levanto dates back to Roman times.  There is a remarkably well preserved castle  a number of churches and a few beautiful villas.  It is a great and quiet place and a perfect gateway to exploring Cinque Terre without the hordes of tourists at every corner.  There is a great promenade along the beach and plenty of wild animals, some of which  needed a helping hand from Boris and Evelina.

Such a beautiful village. The colors are extraordinary! I’ll have to earmark it for the post-lottery world tour!

Oh don’t wait for the lottery….. just do it. Experiences are forever, debt will eventually be paid off. 🙂

We really lucked out with this place. Levanto, in contrast to, the Cinque Terre villages was serene and peaceful and not over run buy tourists which was nice. I could not imagine staying in one of the villages, it would be just too busy.
