The Louvre

Today was a long day, we spent almost 12 hours out in the city.  We had two objectives for today The Louvre for art and Le Marais for dinner.   The Louvre is a place that is extraordinary in and of itself.  Priceless works of art aside, The Louvre is magnificent on its own merit.  It is such a stunning and awe inspiring building with hidden treasures everywhere.  It is true that you can travel the world and not see it, but if you come to the Louvre you can see the entire world as it was, all in one place.  We loved being here last year and this year going to the Louvre and Paris in general was one of our most anticipated events.  It always is, and I think it always will be for us.

Did you hide out until after closing time to get that last picture without any people? 😉

Yes and no. The Louvre closes at 6 pm but the shopping mall attached to it called Carrousel du Louvre is open until 8pm. Most of the people were gone by about 7:30pm while we were sitting and relaxing having a coffee and planning our dinner outing.
