Path of the Gods

We set out for a short walk, from the village of Agerola to Priano – it turned out to be about 8.5km.  Path of the Gods is one of the most famous and most spectacular trails in Italy with stunning view of the Amalfi coast and its towns, mainly Positano, Priano and Amalfi.  There are about 25km of trails you can do.  Our trail started at 650m above the sea level and by the time we got to the outskirts of Priano we were beat and could think of little else other than a bed to relax in.  It took us almost 2 hours to get to the outskirts of Priano, then we spent another 45 min descending another 560 steps to the middle of the town, where we promptly had some drinks, relaxed for a few minutes and took the bus out to Amalfi.  There was no way in hell we were going to walk back up to Agerola.  Nowhere in the legend does it say that you have to walk both ways to become immune to the lure of mermaid song.  In fact since this is the Path of Gods, it is safe to presume that the gods walked from Olympus down to the cost not the other way around.
