The best part of the tour was of course the wine cellars or the caves. The sheer volume of wine stored in the nice cool cellars underground is simply staggering. After the tour we had our first taste of some fine wines, including 1st Cru, and Chateau de Pommard. Naturally we acquired some of them to take home and to share with anyone wanting to visit us and pretend to be either at Versailles or rubbing shoulders with Napoleon’s friends. If it was good enough for them, it certainly is good enough for us. Although, “tasting” 5 wines at noon may have been a bit shortsighted. The plan is to visit at least 3 of these today.
