This is the last stop in Switzerland. Apparently I can’t count to 5 so I booked us in for 4 nights. Needless to say a day before check out we needed to find a room for one more night. Booking.com to the rescue and this is how we ended up in this village. Dating back […]
Daily Drive
It is going to be hard to leave these views behind. It is a good thing that the roads are twisty and narrow, at least by going slow you can enjoy them – not the driver though the roads are too darn twisty and narrow to look away.
Switzerland
We have arrived in Switzerland. Once you pass the tunnels and the trains the views open up – no matter where you look the vistas are spectacular. Interesting note, in Italy, the fastest drivers on the highway are either from Germany or Switzerland. The posted highway speed is 130km/h the Swiss will do 150 to 160km/h. The moment […]
Exploring Antalya
Antalya, after Paris and London, is the third most visited city in the world by international arrivals. When you are out and about or even at our hotel you can hear just about every language being spoken. There are people here from everywhere, each corner of the world seems to be well represented. Antalya which is located […]
Way Home
It is hard to capture the beauty of this road from a moving car. The views are simply breathtaking and spectacular, and I think for this reason alone we prefer to drive to these destinations. Tuscany is gorgeous, with its golden hills and winding roads, cypresses and vineyards and villas and towns perched on the top of […]
Buccia Nera – Italy
Unlike our last trip to the middle of nowhere in Italy where we got lost on a deserted gravel country road in the middle of night with bats flying around – and no cell signal today the expedition went a lot better. We are still in the middle of nowhere, high up on the mountain […]
Germany – Austria – Italy
We are determined to still get some pool time in Arezzo today so we have left early – just a bit after 7am. We have about 900km to drive which should take about 8 hours. Austria is slow to drive through it is basically all dug out with massive construction everywhere plus on the best […]
Agriturismo ai Casoni
We have arrived at Agriturismo ai Casoni, just outside Treviso – where we are going to be spending the next 5 days. This is a small family run agriturismo that produces its own wine and Prosecco as well as the meats and fruits and vegetables. So, as you walk in and are greeted by the hosts […]
Off to Ljubljana
We are leaving Salzburg once again and driving to Slovenia. It should be a great drive through the mountains, it is only about 3 hours with a stop or two for coffee. It’s nice and sunny so the views should be amazing and hopefully the traffic will be light.
The Gorge
The walk from the top of the mountain ends at Partnach Gorge which leads back to the Olympic Park.
Garmisch Olympic Park
Fresh mountain air, no crowds and spectacular vistas is our reward for getting up at 6 am and driving out early to Garmisch.
Garmisch
We are off to the mountains today to relax and take in some views.
