Pizza making class is always a blast, especially at Podere il Casale. Making great food together is a great way to spent time with friends and family. A bit of good wine helps too. We love coming here, we love the stories and the experiences Sandra shares and are always in awe on how rewarding […]
Pizza Class
There are a few things that are easier to make than pizza. Apparently, things which appear simple are quite complex if you break them down. Long story short – I have been doing every aspect of the pizza making, right down to holding the dough all wrong, absolutely every single part, all wrong. This was […]
Florence in a Day
I think this is our 3rd or 4th time in Florence and finally we know the place enough to not get lost 4 times trying to walk 100m in a straight line. Once again we visited the Uffizi and the Academia for the first time. The cathedral is still there and just as magnificent as […]
Ciao Roma!
The only thing on the agenda for today was to take it easy and relax and eat less. Failed on all three accounts. We stopped at Eataly, an old train station that has been converted to a 5 story Italian Shop with 18 or so restaurants. The store has pretty much everything you can imagine […]
14 Pizza Dinner
You will have to take my word for it, even though the pictures don’t show it, there really were 14 pizza on the dinner menu tonight – each different than the last. Twelve of them were consumed on site and two went home with us. There was also bread pudding. There was a lot of […]
Pizza Like No Other
Today we finally got a chance to get together with our good old neighbours we first met in our first house in Pleasantview some 15 years ago. We have been friends ever since. In his yard, Jeff built an amazing pizza oven, a project like no other! The pizza is all home made with love, […]
La Picea
There are 47 restaurants in Levanto, we found this one – La Picea, on the outskirts of the old town – and it just happens to be THE number one rated restaurant in the city. This place is mostly for takeouts but there are some tables and chairs for people like us. It is all […]
Pizzeria Santacroce
If you don’t know what you are looking for, you would more than likely walk by this place without giving it a second look. The place is just outside the main part of the old town in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, off on a side street in the middle of nowhere really. This, however, […]
Pizza Time
Right, so with Mozejkos here it was inevitable that we would be going back to L’Osteria – it is everyone’s favourite pizza joint in Nuremberg and even mid week you need reservations to get it – it’s a crazy place. After pizza we went next door for some gelato.
Celebration
It appears that each special occasion cumulates with a visit to our favorite pizza joint. L’Osteria is then our place of occasion here in Nuremberg.
Happy Birthday Boris
Big day. Boris is turning 14 today and his wish was to spend time with friends and family at L’Osteria. I think everyone was only too happy to oblige. We still love the pizza and the atmosphere there, and so does everyone we take there. A great place with amazing food.
One More Time
It’s been a while since we visited our favorite pizza place. It’s still as good as it was the first time we were here!
L’Osteria – again
L’Osteria again, finally everyone manned up and ordered a pizza today followed by ice cream followed by – what the hell were we thinking eating this much… Luckily we are walking home to get some pretend exercise.
Dinner with Friends
The great Danes are here. We are heading out for a quiet dinner at our favourite go to pizza place in town. Food is always great, service is excellent and the atmosphere is amazing. What more could you ask for?
Man and his Pizza
File this under: what was I thinking? Just to make sure that the first time I managed to eat the entire pizza at L’Osteria, was not a fluke, I challenged myself to do it again. Once you eat half of this pizza, it then starts fitting onto the plate. The pizza is about 42 cm […]
Wonder no more!
Following my intensive eating training in Italy, we have once again visited our favourite pizza place in Nuremberg – L’Osteria. I am happy to report that my earlier challenge about eating an entire pizza has been laid to rest. Not only did I mange to eat the entire pizza, but also try some of Boris’ […]
When in Rome?
First, dress the part. The basic theory is to get something louder than Eddie Jordan would wear and try not too look like a clown, although that part is optional. Second, when it doubt order two main courses just to try them both – live to regret it later. I have a new plan. Today […]
Going Italian
We are planning a short trip to Italy next week. Today we decided to go for a pizza and some pasta to start getting our guts used to, not only the wonderful flavours of Italy, but also to the crazy portion sizes. At L’Osteria, a quiet little place on a side street in Nuremberg, real […]
