It seems that no matter where you go in Rome, there are old Roman ruins or something that predates the Rome itself. No visit to Rome would be complete without spotting Hare Krishna people making a spectacle of themselves and being happy in their own way. The final stop on our list of things to see was what appeared to be about a 1000 people sitting on a giant staircase more commonly known as the Spanish Steps. We did not get to see much of this great architectural marvel but we did see a lot of people taking selfies sitting on them. Perhaps selfie is not a great term because there were so many people there that even all the selfies had at least 100 people in each. Crazy.
The square in the 5th and 6th pics here are *literally* 😉 just around the corner from where we stayed (and will stay again in December btw). It’s called the Argentine Square (or something to do with Argentina). The ruins are overrun by stray cats that all live here, and only there. It was very neat!
Right you are again. They were going to built something here, stuck a shovel in the ground and found some ruins, imagine that ruins in Rome?! Now this place is under excavation and if I remember correctly these ruins go back to times before Romans called this place home.
