It is hard to capture the beauty of this road from a moving car. The views are simply breathtaking and spectacular, and I think for this reason alone we prefer to drive to these destinations. Tuscany is gorgeous, with its golden hills and winding roads, cypresses and vineyards and villas and towns perched on the top of the mountains. Then the roads get even more crazy through the Alps and then the Dolomites. Castles and fortresses and watch towers are everywhere, our kids don’t even lift their heads anymore when we point them out, they are literally everywhere. In Austria the roads straighten out a bit more and when you get to Germany it is all just a blur, a different peace when you drive. In Italy you can’t blink because you go from corner to corner to bridge 1km up in the air connecting two mountain peaks, then through a 1 or 2 km tunnel to another bridge and a tunnel to a 90 degree corner, it is absolutely insane – this truly is a driver’s road. People drive their little cars like they are all a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. In Germany the paces changes to a simple drag race along sweeping long curves, you don’t blink because it is simply intense. This road we are on is a happy combination of a roller coaster and a race track – and it is not only fun to be on but also very beautiful.
Shop and Climb is my new favorite place to go to.
If I am correct this is around Trento – it is such a cool building right next to the highway. A bit further down the road is another building that is set agains the mountain and some forrest and it is all painted in camouflage – you almost can’t see it.
