As my wife said, when you come to Budapest but don’t stop by Zeller Bistro, for dinner – you have wasted your trip here. Zeller is a very small bistro on the Pest side of the city, family own and family run. They also own a small farm and make their own wine and some beers. The service is impeccable, the food is simply divine and reservations are a must if you plan on dining there. Having had a lot of great meals on this adventure of ours over the last 11 months – Zeller Bistro for now takes the top spot. Everything was simply perfect..
We had a Gray Beef Capriccio, a local speciality, Goose Liver Paté on home made brioche with cranberry sauce. Fried Salmon with Pine nut Risotto, Duck Breast with Sweet Potato and MushroomPuree, and Chicken tight roulade with couscous and sweet pea pure for the children. Followed that with apple strudel with vanilla sauce and chocolate soufflé. A bottle of home made elderflower sparking wine is not only a must but a real treat. So good, so good.
Looks and sounds amazing, I went to a cafe in Zeller(s) Edmonton, not the same….LOL
I would say that must be a second close at least in name. It was so good the kids wanted to go back – but we were hell bend on trying something different.
